VIOPAR ENERGY SA” was established in 2010 at the same time as the reform of the renewable energy legislation framework for green development in Greece.
Today, as a member of Ravago Greece Group, VIOPAR ENERGY SA owns the largest and most modern power plant from biomass fuels in Greece. The plant is situated in a 13,400 sq.m land in the 2nd Industrial Zone (VIPE) of Volos and include, in addition to the production facilities, a complete fully automated system for storing and supplying biomass to the unit, which ensures self-sufficiency in the production process of about 2 months.
The company’s main objective is the production of electrical power with biomass combustion, under a 5MW Production License acquired by the competent Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE).

* According to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of USA 1MWh of Renewable Energy prevents the emission of 0,703 tons of CO2.
Contributes to National goal of Renewable Energy penetration according to EU Regulations. Contributes to national energy independence. Provide stable and reliable energy to the Grid. 3.417.240 € in Tax contribution to the State in project`s lifetime (170.862 € /year on average).
39 new employment positions during construction period. 7 permanent employment positions during operation period. Local Municipality will gain 3.884.340 € as income during project`s lifetime ( 194.217 €/ year on average). Near by agricultural residues (that now are being burned in the fields) can be used as fuel reducing the air pollution, the risk of fire and providing to the local farmers a new source of income.
