VIOPAR ENERGY SA” was established in 2010 at the same time as the reform of the renewable energy legislation framework for green development in Greece. Today, as a member of Ravago Greece Group, VIOPAR ENERGY SA owns the largest and most modern power plant from biomass fuels in Greece. The plant is situated in a 13,400 sq.m land in the 2nd Industrial Zone (VIPE) of Volos and include, in addition to the production facilities, a complete fully automated system for storing and supplying biomass to the unit, which ensures self-sufficiency in the production process of about 2 months.
The total licensing of the Station was completed in 2016 while its technology was evolved with the application of the Organic Rankine Cycle system (ORC) instead of steam turbines. In 2017, Ravago Greece Group acquired the company while foreseeing the dynamic development of biomass worldwide and investing in Greece. By the end of the agreement the construction of the plant started with the method of EPC.
